Frequently asked questions
The most common questions we get from our clients
Two days before your event would be ideal as the solution takes 24 hours to develop to its color, but know that timeline isn’t always perfect. If you have questions about tanning for a specific event, just contact us and we will plan your spray tan together.
To prepare for your spray tan, you will want to shave and exfoliate your skin 48-24 hours before. My favorite is to use exfoliating mitts in the shower. Work in a circular motion for an even application. You will want to make sure to schedule all other beauty appointments before your spray tan, preferably not on the same day.
During your appointment, you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. If you are tanning for a specific event, take into consideration any potential tan lines that might be visible.
Our appointments will last between 20-30 minutes.
This will depend on the aftercare of your tan. Spray tans can last 6-10 days. In order to extend your tan as long as you can, make sure you are taking warm showers, no scrubbing of your skin in the shower, pat dry, and moisturize often. Make sure your products don’t have mineral oil, an excessive amount of alcohol or fragrance. My favorite over the counter body wash and lotion to use with spray tans are Aveeno products.
Yes! You are still susceptible to the sun. Make sure to use a cream sunscreen. My favorites are Alba and Sunbum.
To get the best out of your tan, it is recommended that you do not workout for 24 hours after your appointment.
Yes and no. Yes, you will see immediate color during your appointment from the bronzer. However, after your first rinse shower, you will wash most of the bronzer off therefore leaving you without a tan. Don’t worry because the color will start to develop over the next 24 hours.
Tan Care
Exfoliate and shave at least 48-24 hours before your appointment. Make sure to schedule and complete all other beauty appointments before the day of your tan to ensure the best application. Make sure to not “rinse” off or shower at least 6 hours before your appointment. Bring or wear dark loose fitting clothes to your appointment.
We will discuss your first water rinse during your appointment. You will want to make sure you are not around water or get too hot that you sweat during the window of time that your tan is processing. Once your timer goes off, you will want to take a warm shower. With no soaps, washcloths or loofahs, you will want to aggressively rub the bronzer off with your hands. Pat dry and moisturize your skin and face. The color of your tan will start to develop over the next 24 hours.
